Caravan park Master Plan results in a $2.5 million caravan park investment
Its always great to see projects funded and Sustainable Parks Solutions was delighted to read this week that a master plan prepared for the Port Sorell Caravan Park by Sustainable Park Solutions completed over 5 months in 2018 has recently secured funding as part of the Tasmanian Governments response to the COVID-19 crisis.
The Latrobe Council will use the $2.5 million investment from the Local Government Loans program to implement the remainder of the upgrades recommended at the park, including new entrance, main amenities building, office and caretaker accommodation, new cabin accommodation options and additional carparking.
The Master Plan included a 30 year financial plan, concept plans and recommendations to upgrade facilities, accommodation, marketing, compliance and operational aspects of the park. The plan has been adopted by the management committee as a guiding document, with several operational and capital upgrades effected over the last 2 financial years.
Subject to final design and tendering, construction is anticipated to begin in October 2020, with site works and new amenities block being constructed prior to Christmas. The remainder of the project will be undertaken between February and Easter 2021 to avoid the peak holiday periods.
